Guidelines issued by the Consumer Ombudsman

The Consumer Ombudsman has handled many individual cases relating to environmental and ethical marketing, these guidelines demonstrate how the they will enforce the Marketing Control Act in the case of such marketing directed at consumers.

To enable consumers to make conscious and informed choices, it is important that traders give consumers correct and instructive information about the product/company and any ethical or environmental advantages. The purpose of The Consumer Ombudsmanís main work on environmental and ethical marketing has been to prevent consumers being misled and to influence traders to comply with the Marketing Control Act in their ethical and environmental marketing.
